This dance studio is where Larson comes to feel empowered occasionally via the outstretching of jazz hands and that means you can spare her any "you-go-girl" lines or confetti cannons full of condescension. Yes, she is playing the title role in the more than $150 million Captain Marvel, the 21st movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and first ever from the wildly successful Disney division to be fronted by a woman. But, three years after she won an Oscar for her performance in the indie drama Room, the 29-year-old actress is confident enough to reject your media narrative about box office stakes and the fate of women and blah blah blah because Larson has read this story before and she knows how it ends.
"There's this sense of setting this thing up," Larson says. "I know it's exciting and fun to be like, 'Will it sink or will it float?' 'What's going to happen?' 'Can women exist in the world?' 'We're not sure yet!' But women have been opening movies since the silent era. We have been part of every major art movement. People just push us away once the movement gains momentum and act like we were never really there."

I predict a bomb..............
That hairstyle is horrid on her..............
She’s lucky. Her sibs are Cheddar and Camembert.
“Oh well, the Marvel movies were fun while they lasted.”
Yeah, this phase of Marvel movies is ending with the next Avengers. Between Captain Marvel and Black Panther, all signs point to the next phase being taken over by the stories from the new Marvel SJW comics. Perhaps we’ll get the female Thor, or the black female Iron Man next, once they kill off the characters we know and love.
I predict we’ll be looking back at the pre-Captain Marvel movies as the “golden age” of superhero cinema in a decade or two.
Gotta say... for a big-time actress she’s kinda ‘meh’ in this photo.
That’s Gouda.......................
“I dont know why some people are hung up about this movie.”
It’s called hype, marketing.
Multi-millions are spent on it.
No one would care about their idiotic infantile movies otherwise.
Maybe they addressed that by making this one BUTCH? I mean that does seem to be how their program rolls. Maybe this Captain Marvel gets called on the carpet a lot ; )
She was introduced in 1968. Became Ms Marvel
Joined Avengers 183,
Got raped in Avengers 200 by Marcus
Rogue took her powers Marvel Super-Heroes Vol 2 #11 ( Actually Avengers Annual 10 first)
Was in X Men 150 - 164 and then became Binary because of the Brood.

Captain Marvel has been around since the 60s. The first Captain Marvel was actually Captain Mar-Vell ... a Kree military officer sent to earth to observe. There were 5 more Captain Marvels before the Carol Danvers (a.k.a., Ms. Marvel) character assumed the role of Captain Marvel in 2012.
Many characters have taken the role of Captain Marvel over the years. Some male, some female.
You may be right. I’m on the fence, though. Marvel has sold tickets to movies hand over fist, and even a bomb by their standards may make a lot more than the average flick.
The kids don’t really care, apparently - Most times, if it says Harry Potter and the [insert exiting reference here], or Star Wars episode MCMXL, they’ll give it a go. (I think Star Wars may have run it’s course, though, since they’ve negated the whole story by Luke turning on his beliefs...) But - you know what I mean.
My sons, both grown and married with children now, feel a compulsion to see every one of these things, and before this last Avengers movie discussed what order in which to re-watch the previous 462 movies. It’s almost an addiction. There are worse addictions.
Looks weathered.
I needed a good chuckle this morning. This vapid article gave me that.
She had a, uh, makeover for the Captain Marvel movie.
BRIE LARSON REVEALS HER BODY TRANSFORMATION FOR CAPTAIN MARVEL ROLE
She claims it was nine months of working out that did it.
Ha ha! I took enough Latin to recognize that is Latin. Had to look it up.
