A Rant: Can The US Be Forced Into Becoming a Socialist Democracy?

Today’s progressive[sic] seeks to alter the government to a socialist state, one where the authority in power directs (through regulation, taxation, fees, and decrees) the actions of both businesses and individual lives. Governing authority is provided by the government, the people are not willing to engage in the process. Money and transactions are controlled by the government and any wealth produced is distributed according to government edict.

Today’s conservative seeks to “conserve” the US as a republic, the representative form of democracy. Activities are controlled through the elected representatives at the behest of those that elected them; governing authority is vested in the people who willingly engage in the process. Money and transactions are controlled by those who have that money to transact. Any wealth produced is retained by those who best understand how to use it.

The US is/was formed as a constitutional republic and that Constitution is agreed to by the people of the several States of which they are a citizen. Among the primary articles of that very same Constitution is the 4th Article [4th Article in which we are all agreed] is the following language:

Section 4, Clause 1
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government.

Seems to me that “Socialist Democracy” is a violation of the Constitution.

LibTards don't care about the written Constitution. They believe in a "living breathing Constitution" which means that whatever five justices on the Supreme Court say is constitutional law, IS.

They insist on nominating hard-left jurists who are willing to twist it anyway they want to get the desired outcome.

See: Penumbras and Emanations .

It comes down to pure power, and the will to use it. They have both, mostly the Right never gets to the levels of Power that the Dems achieve, and also appear to lack the will to use it.

Arguably the biggest changes in America were FDR's New Deal (which AOC's "Green New Deal" is channeling) and then LBJ's Great Society. In both these eras the Dems had filibuster proof majorities in the Senate, and big majorities in the House. The GOP has never enjoyed that sort of one-party monopoly on power.

But then even if we did the sad sacks who run our party wouldn't do anything with it. Look at how little Paul Ryan acoomplished for Conservatives when he ran the House, with a GOP Senate and a GOP President. Why are we even arguing about Wall Funding *NOW*, when we just had everything needed to pass it?

The Republican Party is weak, because the ideology is weak and poorly understood.

Socialism is evil and never works, but it's adherents all can explain it, and believe in it, and have near religious fervor to fix everything based on it.

What's Mitch McConnell believe strongly in changing?

These programs already transformed America into a semi-socialist state. For instance: which part of the Constitution says "The Federal Government shall have the power to set up a mandatory retirement system for all citizens and require their contributions to it".

That's blatantly unconstitutional, but even most "conservatives" support Social Security, and get incensed if you suggest it should be shut down.

So, whatever RBG, Sotomeyer and a few others decide is OK under President Kamala Harris will be the law, and within 20 years most everyone, even so-called Conservatives will agree it's a well-established program / precedent that can't be disturbed.

But then, I'm sure you know all this.

The "Republican form of Government" clause sure as hell isn't going to stop them.

***Seems to me that “Socialist Democracy” is a violation of the Constitution***

When asked about the federal govt giving money to help some people in some tragedy, the author of the Constitution, James Madison, said, (paraphrasing a bit) I cannot undertake to find in the Constitution any provision allowing the practice of taxing one group of people in order to help another group of people.

Good grief! That is practically the sole function of the USGvt today! I cannot undertake to determine how we shall ever recover our Republic!

Lenin, Mao, Fidel, Chavez in Venezuela --- all have used the same lies as the Dems to seduce the populace in to accepting slavery in an elite autocracy.
