Vanities.
The lack of a home?
Drugs, mostly. My experience with homeless people is that they are less interested in getting off the street than they are in getting off the drugs.
We should be prepared to institutionalize such people. We can design mental hospitals to give them a sense of having an apartment. It doesn’t need to be old-style of 4 white walls and a sparse bed.
I don’t buy it. I think mental illness is an overwhelming factor.
I think the main causes of being “homeless” are substance abuse and mental illness.
Trump’s fault?
The transient homeless, basically those who are homeless for a couple months at most are for the reasons stated. The chronic homeless are caused by drugs and mental illness.
Democrats?
I call BS on both sexes; it’s drugs and alcohol. Those are their priorities, not the normal responsibilities of society, like paying bills, having a steady income/home, etc.
lets not omit the mentally ill ...
Mental illness is high on the list of problems.
And many of them WANT to live outside.
A lot of people are not aware that Gov. Reagan signed a bill letting mental patients out of asylums. Back in the 60s there were do-gooders who thought that locking people against their will was wrong.
For various reason, that is when the doors of mental institutions swung wide open.
Answer to headline title: Decades of Democrat Party’s agenda of totalitarian socialist policies, unchallenged and unconquered by cowardly elected and appointed political hacks in both Parties.
A general sense of entitlement is one factor. If I think the world owes me something, it does, a real hard smack down. Drugs are another big factor. I also think that the more advanced a society becomes, it leaves those with congenitally low IQs further and further behind.
Booze & drugs.
Fake and unresearched rant.
The number one cause is mental illness.
Leftwing judges closed our mental institutions.
Climate change.
Here in Orange County CA we interviewed the homeless urban campers who were occupying the Santa Ana River Trail.
One third were drug and alcohol abusers.
One third were mentally ill. Often they had been treated, but once released they don’t take the medicine prescribed for them.
One third were criminals.
There was overlap among the groups, especially substance abusers and the mentally ill.
“And the top causes of homelessness among families are: (1) lack of affordable housing, (2) unemployment, (3) poverty, and (4) low wages, in that order.”
Substance abuse doesn’t “crack” the top 4? Poverty is #3? Weird list.
