We pour full walls with rebars in our area.....not all the time.....but we can truck the stuff in.

The old masons were meticulous. That trade is going by the wayside. Things change over time....I always learned that if we didn't have those Italian Masons, we wouldn't have front stoops.

My dad was a cement contractor who built for us something called a concrete tilt-up house. Slabs were poured on the ground then tilted up with a crane and ‘fastened’ to standing concrete pillars with cement and rebar to form the outer walls.. The house was never in a tornado, but could probably ride one out.
