Jackie Bradley Jr. is one of three Boston Red Sox players to publicly state he will not be present when his teammates visit President Donald Trump at the White House this spring.
Now the Gold Glove outfielder is taking to social media to explain his decision. Or perhaps more accurately, to correct people who he says incorrectly assumed his decision was politically or racially motivated.
In a message posted to Twitter on Friday, Bradley adamantly states that politics didnt play a role in his decision. He goes as far as to state it didnt matter if it was Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton in office, he wouldnt be going regardless...

We either. Last NBA game I saw in Seattle back in the ‘90s and I said enough of this crap. I have never wasted a dime on the NFL. We went to a Braves game in the A-T-L about 8 or 9 years ago. It rained. The Braves starter got knocked out in the 2d inning, and the Washington pitcher, Strassburg got tossed in the 2d or 3d inning for throwing at one of the Braves batter. It was a long, wet, BORING game and we left in the top of the 8th and called it a night.
Bradley was a rookie in 2017. He wasn’t on the team when they won in 2013.
I retract the above comment and officially confess to being a MAROON who is (apparently) incapable of using Google properly. (Or remembering the names of various Red Sox outfielders off the top of his head).
I was just going by his own comment in the article
An absolute blast to watch play center field. Can run down almost anything and makes the extremely difficult seem routine. A cannon for an arm is a nice touch also.
Play 37 games with them in 2013, and in 2010 went with ncaa champs South Carolina.
Get rid of this stupid crap of inviting winning sports teams to the WH. Really, who cares?
Who doesn't?
The only Red Sox World Series win that was BIG - 2004 !!!!
Well, they're both white.
Is there a minor-league club near you? Minor-league ball is fun.
He was with the 2013 team. Here is his Baseball Reference page:

His self-importance is showing.
Bump
I’ve been on pins and needles this whole time.
Wait, WHO?
So, just don’t go.
What is the purpose to announce your decision to the world?
I can see where a professional player with a .238 lifetime average, and a whopping .234 in 2018, along with a .283 runs production (runs scored and Runs batted in by times at bat) would be embarrassed to go see the president to get congratulated for doing so little to win the championship. Anyone with any class would be embarrassed, too. Stay home, you don’t deserve the honor.

Heck, I’m still trying to figure out how the Democrats invited Illegal Invaders to the SOTU Speech.
When I saw POTUS Bush in a Private VIP Meeting at CPAC way back when, I had to be checked out by the Secret Service which included them being given my Social Security Number a Month prior to the Event and answering other personal questions they requested.
