150/80 isn't an "emergency." Actually, in 2013, the AMA raised the level of "high" blood pressure to 150/90. Then in 2015 the feds funded the Sprint study which said 130 systolic was high. Suddenly, half of America had high blood pressure.
But the study had one group they kept at systolic of 140. Another group they kept at 120 systolic. The interesting thing was that statistically, for all practical purposes, the number of cardiac events in both groups was essentially the same. There was no real benefit in lowering the systolic number.
