James Comey calls for removing Confederate statues in Richmond amid blackface scandals

Washington (CNN)Former FBI Director James Comey called Thursday for the removal of Confederate statues in Virginia's capital in the wake of blackface scandals involving top statewide elected officials, in an op-ed for The Washington Post.
"Expressing bipartisan horror at blackface photos is essential, but removing the statues would show all of America that Virginia really has changed," Comey writes. "There is no doubt that Virginia's leaders need to be held accountable for their personal history, but every Virginia leader is responsible for the racist symbols that still loom over our lives," Comey writes.

Why would this idiot imagine that anybody cares what his opinion on confederate statues is? I know conservatives hate him, but have liberals forgotten their hatred by now? Do they not remember their dopey contention that he personally cost Hillary the election?

Comey lost me when he said the monuments were not celebrating the old soldiers who had passed away decades before. I have read accounts from Stonewall Jackson’s men that they slept beside Jackson’s monument before it’s dedication. They did so to be with the general one last time.

The first hint was when he tweeted (with great sadness about) what was happening to “my Virginia.”
If he is planning on entering VA politics, he must be certain he is not facing any legal issues from his time at FBI or his actions after being fired.
Sadly it would not surprise me.
He might be a William & Mary alum (Tribe sux, go Spiders!) & currently makes his home in Virginia, but I can assure him it is not “his’ Virginia.
99.9% of Virginians I know people I know won’t claim him. :)
