'Ghost' in student's apartment turns out to be man living in her closet, wearing her clothes

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP/Meredith) — A college student said she thought there was a ghost in her apartment. It turned out to be a man living inside her closet and wearing her clothes.

The University of North Carolina-Greensboro student heard strange noises coming from her closet in her off-campus apartment on Saturday, WFMY-TV reported.

“I just hear rattling in my closet," she said. "I'm like, 'Who's there?' And somebody answers me. He's like, 'Oh my name is Drew.'"

Yikes! Creepy. And I totally understand why you were scared to death!

Here in the Central Valley where I live, near Sacramento, they just caught the “Golden State Killer,” after all these years. Turns out he was ex-cop.

One of his M.O.s was that he would break down your back door, and the next thing you would hear would be heavy footsteps running down the hall. That would’ve been him. He would run down the hall, burst into your bedroom before you had a chance to respond to the breaking glass and murder everyone he didn’t want to rape. After he finished with that woman, he’d murder her, too. Then he would ransack the house for valuables. Total coward. So glad they caught him!

I hear ya’! I mean, I can understand someone like that being a little shook up, given the circumstances, but it seems like almost nothing she did was the appropriate response!

I often dream of moving back into that house.

It’s almost dark.

I can hear people in the orchard.

They’re getting closer.

I’m running around trying to lock all the doors and windows.

I can always manage to lock all of them except the sliding glass door and the service entrance.

No matter what I do, I can’t get the lock to work on the service entrance and I can’t get the sliding glass door to close and latch.

Then I wake up.
