C.S. Lewis wrote a great book based on a series of lectures he gave. The book was called “The Abolition of Man”.
Its a discussion of universal values, their removal from forms of modern education, and there re-education of western man to fit into modern totalitarian systems of government.
(...By the removal of the emotional training needed support reason in the fight against the appetites; If reason is staring across the wasteland at desire, desire will win every time with out the support of the emotions.)
I have ruthlessly condensed the book. It was a good book, about 70 pages long.
(Time for bed! Good night!)
I should read that book. I like everything I’ve ready by C.S.Lewis. I re-read Screwtape about every 10 years.
