Was he a MP fan?
Yes he was. It was well known that the The Stones, The Who, and the Beatles were big MP fans but nobody knew if Elvis even knew about them. Eric Idle was backstage at a concert but didn’t approach Elvis as he was too intimidated. Idle later found out that Elvis would have went out of his way to find Idle if Elvis knew he was there.
Not only did EP have all of the “ladies” voices down but he would frequently quote them. He would be playing football with his friends and sometimes cut himself. In Elvis’ best “Black Knight” voice he would say “it’s merely a flesh wound.”
I recently realized that about the only way to see MP when they first aired in the US was on ETV. So if you saw MP in the early 70s, chances are that Elvis was watching at the same time.
