I get the impression that AOC is being coached by someone with a detailed plan. I pray that she will fail at everything, but I worry that she’s the next Barack Hussein - the next Manchurian Candidate being created with media complicity. America fell for this once, and they may be recycling that socialist script.

So - Sandy from White Plains, a tip stealing bartender with the bright red lipstick has been a member of the lower House (approval rating for HOR is about 21%) for 6 weeks and shes introducing legislation that outlaws the internal combustion engine, the petroleum industry and costs an estimated 7 trillion to implement.
Is this satire?

The key talking points of this plan, which are all that have been published, are just bonkers. Pure PC sloganeering and soviet new-speak.

Several analysts, meanwhile, have cautioned that the liberal firebrand is in over her head, even though the as-yet vague and uncertain details about the Green New Deal render a precise calculation impossible at the moment. Physicist Christopher Clack told The Hill that the cost would easily be into the trillions.

How about a tariff on goods from hellhole countries with zero environmental protection laws until they clean up their pollutuon (ex: China and India). Outlawing straws isn’t going to save the planet when 95% of the plastic in the ocean comes from 9 rivers (none of them are in the USA)
15 of the largest cargo ships create more pollution than all the worlds automobiles, maybe that’s a bigger issue?

To raise awareness for the measure, Markey announced Monday he had invited Varshini Prakash, the co-founder of the Sunrise Movement environmentalist group, to be his guest at President Trump’s State of the Union address Tuesday night.
But, the Green New Deal isnt just about stopping climate change, its about taking action to reverse decades and decades of inequality that have led us to this moment in the first place. A key part of a Green New Deal is a job guarantee to give any American a job whos ready to do their part taking on climate change. That would be transformational for our economy and give us the opportunity to nearly eliminate poverty in America. In addition, we need to make sure that were investing in low-income communities, communities of color, and all places that have been left behind by todays Wall Street-driven economy.

“WWII-level mobilization”
Now where/when have I heard that before (before AOC was even a name)?
“Green New Deal” is nothing but the same old recycled tripe from Democrats (now they prefer to be named Progressive/Socialist).

You can end fossil fuel pollution a lot quicker and less expensively by just banning all fossil-fuel burning devices. No more cars, trucks, buses, diesel trains, coal-burning power plants...shut them all down! Of course, the economic system will collapse and people will starve to death, but I know this won't bother you because you haven't considered the consequences of your proposals after any such bills becomes law.
My guess is that your next plan is to end poverty, which is now defined as about $25K for a family of 4. No problem, just get all of the people who make $25K or less, line 'em up and shoot them. Problem solved, right AOC? You dumb a$$, how long will it take before the person making $25,001 starts bitching because he's the poorest person in the land?
Try something new, AOC...think.

She’s shifting the Overton window.
She’s making wild demands, expecting we’ll relent and settle for a small fraction - which is still huge.
She’s winding up & growing her base.
She’s initiating public discussion, leading to centrist acceptance of “reasonable measures”.
Other countries have been persuaded to such “green” ends. She’s being used as a front to do same here.

Some pol should remind AOC that the war years were years of hardship and deprivation for all those on the homefront.
Rationing of all goods were common and lasted well after the last bullet was fired.
They should ask her what sacrifices will she force the american people for her ponzi scheme and how is it any different from Obama’s “Green Deal”
