Yeah, I'm from Louisiana.
My apologies...spell correct...
Blanda....
Smile. I knew what you meant.
Im sad that September is so far away before we all start complaining on weekends again...
If the refs hadnt gifted the Steelers game to the Saints, the Saints wouldve played the Rams in LA for the NFC title; likely Rams win.
Notre Dame was about as top 4 as Alabama. Clemson made them both look like children.
Every teams fans can look back on a call in game that had an a similar effect and kept them from the promised land. unnecessary “interference” uncalled “interference”, phantom holding calls, “roughing” the passer.
Happens in every game.
I remember the Ameche game in 58.
I also remember the colts/packers game in 65 when gene tunney called a don chandler field goal good that was wide right. Packers won in o.t. and went to nfl championship game.
NFL extended goal posts 10 feet the next year and added a ref.
Bad calls are as much a part of the game as injuries.
NFL/refs=metaphor for our judicial supremecy/tyranny.
The losers can write a book called “What Happened”.
Grow up awready. Tired of hearing it.
Sports are the opiate of the inebriate.
Saints rooter since hitting the Biloxi area in ‘86 - but not enough of a fan to lose sleep or peace of mind over a game when there’s so much more important stuff to keep us occupied.....don’t lose sleep when the weatherman is wrong either...which is good because they are wrong a lot more often than blind refs...
good
It would have been slightly more gratifying to see the Patriots beat the Saints 35 or so to nothing.
People aren’t tired of the Pats.
I will never forgive Joe Namath and the Jets from beating the Colts in their Super Bowl.....!
Defensive battles are boring to watch and given thats what that game was most likely outcome would be the Patriots would eventually get a breakout score at some point... and the Rams, less likely so. And thats how it played out.
Boring to watch? You betcha, but hardly the first boring super bowl ever to happen.
Been a Saints fan my whole life.
They didn’t play well enough to beat the third team on the field.
Simple as that.
The Saints played one of their typical low energy play off games, and it cost them big time.
They should know better by now.
The fans in attendance were the most partisan I can recall in all the S/B games I’ve watched over the years. Usually the fans in attendance swing towards the winning team in the 4th quarter. This game crowd was pro Patriots right from the start.
Even Brady acknowledged it during the post game interview, saying it was like being in their home stadium.
Not saying that was good or bad, just making note of the attendee bias during the game. I don’t recall the fans ever being so biased during a S/B game.
As a Vikings fan, you got your 2009 championship because of the referees rigging the game. #thenorthremembers
