Hi, Vision! We’re not watching the Super Bowl, but we’ll listen to it on the radio. I want to hear Gladys Knight sing the National Anthem.

How YOU doin’?

They’re getting close to being done, but the house is all out of order. Most of our stuff is in the garage, and we only have the bare essentials inside. No closet rods, no doors—bathroom or anywhere. The new paint looks excellent. This house doesn’t have a lot of light in it, so I went with shades of white, whereas the old paint was darker, even dingy-looking. It’s SO nice and bright now.

Evening, folks. I used this brief intermission to turn the halftime shenanigans off and go get beer and hot dog buns.I think the only people left in my zip code are me, the missus, the cop parked in the school parking lot, and the Indian guy who runs the convenience store on the corner. Everyone else is in Atlanta tonight. Refreshingly quiet. Even the police scanner is silent.

Hey there, glad to hear all is quiet on the southern front. Crabcake here tonight, no football! You feeling better?

Oh, man, crabcake. Now I feel homesick. *chuckle* Homemade, or from a local joint? I’m feeling marginally better, just letting the cold/flu meds work their elfin magic. I wasn’t gonna bother with the game - no dog in this fight - but it’s having its moments. Can’t believe the score is as low as it is.

Oh, I've heard of them. Them and G&M. Several others. I can go into just about any supermarket down here and find something labeled 'Maryland Style' crabcakes in the seafood section, and it tastes like a fish fillet doused in some knock-off of Old Bay. I've just learned to make them here when I'm feeling flush. I can make some beer-steamed Old Bay shrimp that'll leave the local seafood joints in the tail lights. You gotta start with them raw, shell-on, and as big as your index finger before steaming.

The Rams just kicked the 4th longest FG in Super Bowl history. 53 yards. It's tied 3-3 at the end of the 3rd! We got a real barn-burner going! *zzzzzzzzz* *snore*

I think I'll just watch the cat lick himself.

I live 10 minutes from g&m. Great crabcake. I’m heading to listen in bed. At least the cat deserves to be in America.

No, I haven’t (John Waters I’m familiar with, tho), but if you’d enlighten me with some web linkage, I’d be happy to look it up.

"Baron Ambrosia" was a local access character in NYC.

He did skits involving food, and got a season or two on the Food Channel or Cooking Channel, except stretching out an "adventure" for a half-hour slot, iirc.

One epi had him hitting Baltimore for something involving crab cakes, and John Waters joined in.

Personally, it got old fast, and I think I watched the first epi, half of the second, and the John Waters one.

I wasn't surprised when it went away.

Lordy. They should have rolled in John Astin, and made a real hootenanny of it. Those old local access programs were great on a weekend evening if you wanted to sit there with an adult beverage and watch a train wreck occur in real time. I used to do that in the 80’s when I lived in D.C. Then I realized later that they were the progenitors of today’s Democrat party. I’ll have to YouTube it one evening when I’m feeling a little masochistic. *chuckle*
