My grandmother could have been Hyacinth’s doppleganger to a T. Mannerisms, gossiping, putting on airs and the dresses. There was also the Rose & Oslo types on her side. The show was like a family album.

Same here, only it was my mother. I remember once when her college roommate was visiting. These women were probably in their 50’s-60’s then and had remained close over the years - close enough where the roommate had no problem going into the kitchen to get a fork. When she sits back down at the table, my mother looks at the fork and laughs a little, “Oh, you got a salad fork. That’s not what you wanted, is it?” Way to go w/your friend, ma.
