Full Title: Two boys, 13 and 14, arrested after one of them tells Siri he wants to 'shoot up a school' and posts virtual assistant's response recommending several local schools on social media as a 'joke'
Two Indiana boys are in custody after a 13-year-old told Siri that he was going to shoot up a school and then posted the virtual assistant's reply on social media.
The Valparaiso Police Department said Thursday night that the incident started when a boy, 13, who is not being named, told Apple's virtual assistant: 'I am going to shoot up a school.'
Siri then responded with a list of schools in Valparaiso, Indiana, where the boy was visiting relatives at the time
The 13-year-old is being held at the Porter County Juvenile Detention Center on a felony charge of Intimidation, according to the Northwest Indiana Times.
The 14-year old boy is also being held on a felony charge of intimidation, as well as criminal recklessness with a handgun.

Now I understand that in these times this needs to be investigated, but this could easily have been two normal kids just pointing out what an inappropriate response they got from Siri. Now they've been charged with felonies. It really is pretty funny that Siri came back with that response.

I think they coulda gotten by just posting the Siri response but the weapon photos almost guaranteed the outcome.
PS - Siri needs to be charged as part of this violent conspiracy as well now. :)

You know what, I think that I am going to film myself stating my intention to expose the surveillance state. I am going to buy the Google assistant and, in front of witnesses, casually talk about things that raise red flags. When they come to arrest me I am going to sue the shit out of them.

Glad I'm not a kid these days. I thought that was funny. When I was a kid, that would have been funny because kids were just being kids. Nobody was minded to shoot up a school.

Oh crap. The other day I was with my grandson and asked Siri what gun powder was made of. Should I be expecting a knock on my door? Knew I should have looked it up in my set of 50+ year-old Encyclopedia Britannicas. They were published before Fahrenheit 451 became non fiction...

"...A third of all divorce filings in 2011 contained the word "Facebook," according to Divorce Online. And more than 80 percent of U.S. divorce attorneys say social networking in divorce proceedings is on the rise, according to the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers..." I don't know how accurate that is, but...I don't need social media. I don't use any of it (Unless Free Republic is "social media") although my friends set up an account in my name...It was kind of a joke.
Kind of...:)

I hope these boys get a good lawyer because all they did was post stupid shit on social media. in my opinion other then being investigated nothing else should of happened and the parents should of been allowed to be parents and discipline the kids if the parents felt that discipline was needed or the fact the police questioned them was enough for them to realize that posting funny shit about school shootings by thirteen year old is not something they should do.

When I was a kid, that would have been funny because kids were just being kids. Nobody was minded to shoot up a school. Yeah, in our day we didn't play ultra-violent, blood guts and gore shoot-em-up video games 10 hours a day either.
