Did Bill Nye just suggest the U.S. will have to annex Canada to grow crops?

His Climate Contol idea is kooky. However, I have long thought that one day, we would give serious thought to expanding the United States as a continent.
Going south would be too troublesome, and overloaded with poor, uneducated people. Mexico wouldn’t let it happen anyway. They’re still bellyaching about ‘losing’ California.

What about going north, just a little bit?
Canada is so very expansive, that maybe they could sell us a sliver of unused land right next to the border. Why would we want it? Maybe there are places worth mining up there. Not for fuel though.
Precious metals that can be used to make computers.

Besides the fact that after reading the latest thing about the sun, Maunder minimum, Canada is screwed for crops.

bill nye. the supposed “science guy”, really is a loony LIB loser who has a bachelors degree in engineering. I’d say he mostly talks out of his a** on science subjects. The pathetic thing is that many feel that he is some sort of prophet scientist who knows everything. The tool is a snake oil salesman. He has no discernible shame and even less integrity. What an oaf.

Is Bill Nye and Mathew Lesko the same person?

Nah, Lesko is a rodeo clown who knows he's a rodeo clown and enjoys the gig. His shtick is about as honest as an interview on the Little Stevie Coal-bert Show and just as believable.

Nye, on the other hand, is a rodeo clown who doesn't think he's a rodeo clown. He comes across as believable to the LIV, but if you listen to him for a while, you know he's blowing gas up your butt.

He made an ass of himself when he decided to weigh in on the NFL "Deflategate" fiasco, and instead of using the PV=nRT formula which even high school chemistry students know about, his comment on the subject was: "...to really change the pressure in the ball, you need one of these - the inflation needle..."

He is indeed a total tool.

Allow me to volunteer southern Ontario to be annexed. As long as you LEAVE Toronto behind in Canada, I’m good with that. I already have an American flag ready to fly.

Our counter offer is: we'll leave Quebec behind....and all the really cold parts (but we want the oil).

With the 30 days a year Canadian ground will be thawed out due to Global Cooling, it will work for plants.

Temperatures drop 3.5 degrees per 1,000 feet of altitude or 2.7 degrees per 60 miles north. If temperatures rise by 2 degrees over the next century, we’ll have enough time to find new croplands with an elevation 570 feet higher or 45 miles farther north. That may be too hard for Bill Nye the Science Guy, but any math guy alive can handle it.

Alberta might not resist real hard with the way it’s going here.

We should put a conservative government back into power in spring, but federally this place is screwed.

US has it’s troubles too, but at least if annexed, we’d have speech and bear arms back. We do have arms, but can’t really defend ourselves with them unless one likes jail.

Forty three years ago a farm magazine THE PROGRESSIVE FARMER said crops grown in Illinois would be grown in the South due to THE COMING ICE AGE! A few years back the same magazine was warning of GLO-BULL WARMING driving crops north.

After subscribing for over fifty years, I dropped my subscription.

” he was envisioning an apocalyptic future in which the U.S. flexes its military might and annexes us out of self-interest”

Wouldn’t be much of a flex. More like a 12 oz. curl.
