Originally was a problem with the homeless population, but the problem is complicated by mounds of food and trash found in downtown which attracts rats and fleas.
Typhus carried by rats as vectors of fleas, although feral cats and other mammals can carry the fleas.
The typhus epidemic is only getting worse, and is expanding outside of downtown.
124 people have been confirmed as having typhus in LA;
this number includes residents and visitors.
80% of those infected are residents outside downtown.

Typhus was probably the worst vaccine given in boot camp. Everybody got sick. goobs of mucus and flem. hacking and coughing for a few days, fever chills, sore all over. Anybody back me up on this ?

I could be wrong, it might have been typhoid fever. we got about 8 vaccines in one day. one recuit actually died that night. He was moaning in bed, they called the ambulance , the paramedics came and we were told he died.
When it hits the gated communities of liberal ‘elites’ the CDC might take action... and I stress ‘might’.
I did fine with that one. None of the vaccines ever did more than cause some localized inflammation, which dissipated over a couple of days.
The worst vaccine was the smallpox one. It itches like crazy.
I always thought it would be the cesspool formerly known as San Francisco would be the first in California for an outbreak of bums-illegals typhus-carrying havoc (B.I.T.C.H.) disease.
Typhus? Where did that come from? I guess spreading by illegals, homeless and filth in general, thus increasing rat population. I did not know that cats could be vectors. Different species host different kinds of fleas. Fleas that live on rats cannot live on cats. Maybe cat fleas can also carry typhus.
