Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine has responded to critics who urged the band to show solidarity with Colin Kaepernick by not to performing at Super Bowl LIII, with the singer hinting that the halftime show will include a social message.
'I'm not in the right profession if I can't handle a little bit of controversy. It is what it is, we expected it,' Levine said in an interview on Thursday with Entertainment Tonight, three days ahead of the big game in Atlanta.
'We'd like to move on with it, and like I said earlier, speak though the music,' Levine said of the band's plans for Sunday's championship game between the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams.
Maroon 5 came under scrutiny when a petition signed by more than 113,000 fans demanded that they withdraw from performing at the Super Bowl to support Kaepernick and other players who kneel during the national anthem.

Giving in to the commie NFL.
I suspect that the SJW pressure is coming FROM the league.
Make a “water cooler moment”.
Drive another nail in the coffin that is pro football you maroon. Once an entertainment platform becomes a pulpit from which to preach an anti American SJW message it’s dead. Die already NFL.
“...by not to performing...”

Hmm. Some kind of strange mixture of English and Ebonics, perhaps?
I know of Kapernick - but he’s like so 2016.
This other guy and his group? Never heard of him.
Oh for the days of complaining about that goofy guy “Prince””
(Okay - maybe weird - but boy could he play!)

“halftime show will include a social message.”
Definitely not watching. Dems ruin everything they touch.
We will watch it. My husband is a big football fan. I am too but my team is the SF 49ers.
I really don’t care who wins this Sunday. Brady is the best QB of all time so there’s that and has a lot of rings already. Rams would be nice for a change.
I will record the puppy bowl. I heard they are having baby kangaroos this year.
I would just prefer a few college marching bands and some commentary. I am watching a football game and not a concert especially with some crap singer with crap sound.
The cable and satellite companies know exactly what you are watching and when you change a channel.
POTUS Trump is filming a CBS interview today that will be partially shown on a news show Sunday morning and the other part will be during halftime at the Superbowl.
So, just turn off Maroon 5 and then turn it back on for POTUS Trump.
You can always watch it over the air (OTA) on CBS and then turn on the cable (or satellite) for the interview.
To protest the poor NFL officiating, watch the game OTA
and then turn on the cable when New England starts losing.
BTW, the picture OTA is almost always better than cable or satellite (less compression and no dynamic bandwidth compression issues with other channels coming down the same pipe).
ff
Never a fan of the artist formerly (then currently, then dead) known as Prince.
Remember NOT watching prince during that dooper Bowl . Did wait eagerly for The Rolling Stones when they performed
Havent watched the Super Bowl at all, this will be the third year. They need to become an American football league before Ill watch again. Im looking forward to a new league.
YAWN. 300k people signed a petition to expel Rashidi Tlaib from Congress.
Just get Led Zeppelin to do the show. 20min of Dazed & Confused should about do it
Could get Greta Van Fleet. They are channeling Led Zepplin.
I promise I will turn it off!
That was a great show!
And no PC cr@p. A good (smart) artist floats above all that.
That would be great - They already are having their tunes used as bumper music in commercials. There are some smart folks behind that band of kids making all the right moves
I could care less just be happy Colin and Hillary dont have jobs.
