My kids get days off a lot cheaper than I did in the 1990s. I will say that. I dont remember getting days off for wind chill or a dusting of snow. It would take 4 or 5 inches.

One of the problems was that there was such a demand for natural gas that there is now a shortage.

Customers have been asked to dial their thermostats back to 63.

So, what happens when all the kids get to school and the school loses heat?

Who wants to own that risk?

Ditto for me in the ‘50s and ‘60s - in Buffalo. You didn’t even see the school bus lights until it stopped for you because it as snowing so hard. “Snow days” - pffft!
