The Dixie Chicks won a large suit against Sony that netted them millions, each.
I forget the details but Sony was only giving them a piece of the CD sales and then selling songs online and not giving the Chicks anything.
The judge came down on Sony like a hammer and the chicks were instant multi-millionaires. I seem to remember the number as $10 each. With good investment counseling they could have it up to $50 million by now.

Article says she's worth a cool $50 mil. Everytime NPR plays one of her records to be smug she cashes a check. Elizabeth Warren would hit her with a 2% wealth tax.
