We’re circling the same area of perversion. I have not been to Chicago in more than 30 years. But even back then, ain’t no white folks outside at 2AM, unless they are stupid. Now let me be clear, (Could not resist) I have avoided major metropolitan areas for a long, long time now. SO I could just be talking out my butt. But everyone has security cameras now days! Soooooo.. I say HOAX!
I spent 10 years (2001-2010) in the “near” suburbs, going into the city about 3 times a month. More in the summer to see the Sox.
So, yeah, given the environment and atmosphere at that location at that time, delivery would have been required. And, really, the hotel concierge would have sent one of his valet’s to get _any_ guest a Subway sammich.
I see what you did there... That’s Not Who We Are!
Need to check his Grindr app.
This story doesnt pass the most basic of smell tests. At 2:00am on the 29th it was 1-10 degrees Fahrenheit with 14mph winds. Nobodys hanging around outside, equipped with a noose, looking for a minority to assault. I expect evidence will come out showing this was is another fake.
Midnight, downtown Chicago. Corner of Michigan Ave and the big bridge right by the Trib building. Dozens of tourists, out dancing in the street to some band that decided to have an impromptu jam session. I was there....because my son and his girlfriend wanted to go run around downtown, but didn't want me to miss out. Perfectly safe.
Every time I go to Chicago, I stay downtown, ride the subway and the L and I act like a few square blocks of the windy city is just my private neighborhood. Including dancing to Madonna music (on the Walkman) on the cathedral steps. I've always felt safe there...but I pay way more attention to the situation.
And there are certain streets that, thanks to some of Chicago's Finest taking me by the shoulders and turning me around, no white girl goes down. Those are the edge of my neighborhood...and thankfully there's an awesome diner there that lots of cops hang out at.
Please note: I am not stupid, just situationally aware. And, all my Chicago days are behind me, as they don't allow guns, even with my CPL. All previous Chicago trips were gun free. Funny how I could go there before with no protection, and now that I have that protection, it's not allowed!
