I know Kalifornians are impaired when it comes to understanding economics, but Apple is a big business. They think raising prices will increase sales???
That’s a great idea!!
I’m still running my 5s. I’ve had it for 5 years and it’s getting to the point now where I’m going to have to upgrade.
I won’t buy an Android. I just don’t like it as an OS.
[ Youll never Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V ]
BION, the church organization where I worked the I/T folks never did that. I couldn’t believe it when I watched several of them using the drop-downs or other menus. I saw it several times and then finally asked if they were familiar with it.
That being said they did know a lot of things. But I had never experienced anyone in I/T not using those Ctrl keys.
Old Apple bosses: innovation and improvement
New Apple boss: ain’t gay sex fantastic?
+1
Wow, raising prices increases demand. He must have attended econ courses at Boston U and sat next to Occasional Cortex. He obviously didn’t have Job’s talent for design and innovation, and he’s complemented that with the bimbo’s knowledge on marketing.
I’ve been an Apple guy, but it appears that the company has achieved Microsoft’s approach to blandness.
They hope to make up lack of volume, by increasing price.
Brilliant. /s
They are moving into services which will surpass iPhone in 5 years...
Yep.
Was going to upgrade to a Samaung 8+ but, figured all I wanted was to keep the big screen i had on my Note5 and the rest of what i actually use would be inside any new phone.
Instead of blowing $900 on a new phone, I paid $149 for a J7.
$1000 is crazy for a phone...
Just like Democrats. Raise taxes to increase GDP and increase revenue. Dumb. Dumb dumb.
Damn...
I over paid for my J7...
Apple is a victim of their own quality product. I got 9 years out of my MacBook Pro until it was simply aggravatingly slow. It still worked when I replaced it.
People don't really buy iPhones. They lease them for two years. By the time they're paid off, their old one is outdated and they can just roll over to the new model without much impact to their budget. Lately, however, the older models have been lasting longer than the two year contract. My 6s was paid off months ago and it's still working just fine. I'll probably keep it for at least another year.
It was like pulling teeth to get the rebate in the form of a Walmart gift card. I had to try 3 times and finally contacted their customer service to tell them that they were demanding something which could not be provided.
I had been waiting several weeks for that Black Friday. I waited until after midnight only to learn it was sold out. I checked again around 9 A.M. and it was back in stock.
I ordered it and checked back several times and it was sold out again. I was lucky to get it.
To me the future for smart phones must include a dual-use scenario in which our phones can simultaneously run desktop operating systems while connecting wirelessly to a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and external storage.
In other words, smart phones, at these prices, should do all of the tasks of a desktop or laptop at the same time they function as smart phones.
$999.99
“iPhones have dropped features that I liked - headphone jack, home button.”
I have a Galaxy. No home button, no problem. It is a soft key. It works.
I have headphone jack but haven’t used it in years.
I gotta admit, the Xr looks like a pretty good phone for a fair price. Plus a much longer battery life.
Make your product so good it lasts forever and you limit demand. Fail to provide compelling reasons to upgrade your product and you limit demand. Competitors provide better value and your demand is limited.
Apple suffers from all three.
