I agree, but the basic 1 per month plan is all I can afford from Audible. I go through 1-2 per week. My local library has two audiobook services with free checkouts. The selection is good, not great, and you have to wait a while for best-sellers to become available. The selection for classics is very good. (Overdrive and RB Digital)

I listen to audiobooks in the form of CD's when I'm driving. I got into that habit a couple years ago when the only conservative talk radio hosts available in my area were Mark Levin, then going through his never-Trump phase, Glenn Beck, and Michael Medved.

Talk radio has since improved--Levin is now on the Trump train, Medved has been replaced by Sebastian Gorka and Beck is history. But I still spend a lot of time in the car listening to audiobooks.

I drive a lot snd listen to audio books played from my I Phone through the car radio

(the old rule was 1 CD = 80 miles )
