I agree...it's fishy.

Have the kid draw a picture of the bear.

I think he was kidnapped and the kidnapper got spooked when he heard voices of rescuers.

Not according to law enforcement...They said the condition the child and his clothes were in indicated he’d been in the woods the whole time...They said there was absolutely on evidence of a crime...

really? A kidnapper who kept him in the woods a quarter mile away from his house for 2 days? yeah.... right

One of my elderly friends slipped on the slope of her OWN backyard and ended up being “rescued” from a fall into the creek by clump of blackberry bushes. Her calls for help alerted a family member inside her house, but it took HOURS gor the fire department to get her free from the bushes.
A 3 year old could easily get “captured” by a clump of bramble bushes, and not set himself free without getting hurt very badly.
So, to me, the story does not really seem that fishy.
