Because of these records being lost I am unable to trace my husbands gynecology back.

I bet he doesn’t have a gynecological record, and that’s OK....

There was a NY census in 1892. It helped me out a couple of times - https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/1529100

I had the same problem with my great grandmother... that 1890 census would have been invaluable to figure out what happened to her and her siblings after her mother died.

I eventually did, but that document would have made it SO much easier.
