Classic educational cartoon from the 1950's on how American-style freedom and a Free Market Economy lead to prosperity, and how they are at risk.

You hardly hear a case for freedom coming from the Right. And after Milton Friedman died, almost total silence about the fabulous benefits of the wealth-creating Free Market Economy.
Many people on the Right and here on FR have been brainwashed by the Left into thinking the free market is the cause of our economic woes when in fact it is socialism and the LACK of a free marker economy that is the culprit.
Much of the Right has become tone-deaf to the destructiveness of socialism and the benefits of freedom.
Hope that changes soon.

US CHAMBER of COMMERCE is the ENEMY of the PEOPLE.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce sells a deceptive propaganda video about the “Free Market”.
Then they DO the opposite bribing Congress for “Guest” workers, foreign labor, and destructive privileged Tariffs, that they deceitfully call Free.
Someone should send this to AOC.
Are you saying this country never had free trade? Tariffs funded up to 95% of the Federal Government.
Tariffs are simply taxes. They dont block anything.
If taxes are so bad, why do we tax reportable income in the past 90 years, blowing up the size of the government and hurting anyone wanting to earn money?
Get your head out of 0bamas butt.
Tariffs are a tax and if you think taxes “aren’t so bad” then you’re the one up Obama’s butt.
Would you replace the income tax with a tariff if you had the power to do so?
The free Market ENDS at the water’s edge.
We have tariff free trade between the 50 states. NOBODY has the right to free trade with other nations. That thought/concept is ridiculous.
Thanks. Will link.
Jim, no country in this world has free trade. Not even Singapore, and even Singapore has a tariff.
Tell us what you think free trade means and give us an example of such a country, and I will prove you are wrong.
We are waiting...
.
Off point.
I refer you back to the Two Laws of Tariffs posted earlier, your views on the free market economy notwithstanding.
I cannot find something called Two laws of tariffs.
Can you tell me what thread or post has this? I also cant find it on Google, worded as such.
Thanks. By the way, dont forget give us an example of a free trade country and of what you mean by free trade.
The Two Rules of Tariffs:
Rule 1. A tariff is a tax, and
Rule 2. No tax ever creates wealth, it only dissipates wealth.
I refer you back to these Two Rules of Tariffs as answer to your replies in the future.
Thats why reducing income tax and increasing tariffs makes sense.
Thank you.
By the way, have you got a definition for free trade and picked a country with it?
Off point. The issue is Central_VA’s usual confusion in response to my original post:

80%+ of the federal government is unconstitutional. KEEP THE GOVERNMENT SHUT DOWN (except for the 20%- constitutional part). Best thing that could ever happen to us. The Liars in the media try to spin how bad it is for us to have the government shut down. But they, of course, are liars.
Among many other things, the unconstitutional $3+ trillion portion of the feds continually drives up a relentless hidden tax: INFLATION. Keep this sucker shut down, and we will enjoy the greatest economic boom America has ever seen.
FREEDOM creates wealth (in the free market).
GOVERNMENT creates poverty (takes peoples money and drives inflation).
And oh BTW, in case youre wondering, illegal immigration and immigration of our enemies IS INVASION!
So STOP the invasion AND KEEP the unconstitutional 80%+ portion of the feds SHUT DOWN.
And BTW, the free market economy is an economy free of government interference. The issue isn’t that you have never seen it in action. The issue is, to the degree an economy is free of government interference to that degree the economy thrives.
You need to get unstuck off of socialist stupidity.
