The most important people in American politics is the 60% in the middle--those unimaginably ignorant "people" who vote for Obama on Monday, Trump on Tuesday, Hillary on Wednesday, Reagan on Thursday, etc., etc. I think it is just possible that after three weeks, those ignorant pigs, yes, even them, they might wake up and say, "Hey, DJT's been pretty flexible here. The dems are unreasonable." THAT is what we might gain with a 3-week pause in the shutdown. Hoping and praying.
I think people will see who is moving and who is blocking. If Trump gave up the wall without a fight, then I'd agree that he might be finished, but he didn't and he'll get credit for that.
I think Trump knows about brinksmanship, but he's used to dealing in a corporate world where people on the other side of the table understand about fiduciary responsibility and doing the right thing for their businesses.
I think Trump is truly surprised at how far Pelosi was willing to take brinksmanship, given that she's talking about the safety of our nation, and possibly the world. I think that he must now think that he's dealing with a madman, because no sane person would risk so much for so little (relatively speaking) as she is willing to do.
Given the thinking that Pelosi is insanely focused on her own power, Trump is going to use the next three weeks for the rest of Congress to retake control of the negotiations and move forward in a more structured, familiar way. If they don't, can't, or it becomes obvious that Pelosi will not get out of the way, then Trump will pull the trigger on the emergency order or the Democrats will try to remove Pelosi from the Speakership.
That's going to be the play for the next three weeks.

Still no better solution than Trump. Doesn’t mean we’re getting a wall, at least one without bloodshed first.

The usual explanation I get is that their are 1/3 conservatives voters, 1/3 liberal voters. The remaining are 1/3 swing voters that are too stupid and are easily swayed by the media. Of course the media is 90% liberal, so we can all do the math. And I might add that 50% of the people don’t pay any taxes and receive some sort of government payouts.
And the Left knows this. The US does not have individuals willing to sacrifice personal gains for the good of the country.
I have a friend that always says the 20 percent at either extreme... his word... need to shut up and let the 60 percent govern. I can’t convince him that if there were 60 percent in agreement, they’d win every election.
They had all the power for two years.

A continuation of unfettered illegal immigration, combined with voter fraud, is ball game for the Left. That is what Pelosi is fighting for.

Now out-in-the-open Democrat support for illegal aliens over American citizens, when combined with liberal attacks on Catholic high school children and New York approving open-ended abortions, will start moving public opinion in the next three weeks.

There is none of this “logic” on the left.
Leftists are literally killing babies. No one is going to think that the left made a mistake, and that “Trump was right”.
Again, the hope is not to impress the left; we’re aiming for the retard swing voters, who DO frequently vote REPUB.
And that is the genius of Trump. Keep it front and center. Don’t reopen the government and let the Dems drag their feet on the wall until it’s forgotten.
Will these possible conservative voters outnumber even one day of illegals crossing our border? Thousands of left votes.
Trump did exactly what he had to do. He threw it back to congress. If they don’t make a deal now, I would expect in 3 weeks he will shutdown the government again, call a national emergency, get the funding for the wall and then accuse Democrats of postponing this for 3 months to score political points with their base.
All hope is not lost.
But for the moment Trump caved. Nancy won.

Nah, he realized the two sides (Patriotic Americans versus Anti-American open-borders Globalists) were sitting opposite one another staring across a political Maginol Line. He’s “repositioning his forces” and changing his strategy so that he can undertake a blitz offensive to have the border barricaded/walled WITHOUT EFFECTIVE INTERFERENCE by the open-borders globalists.
In other words, he’s going to be bypassing the Globalist obstructionists. And NOBODY WILL BE ABLE TO SAY HE DIDN’T FIRST TRY TO WORK WITH THE OBSTRUCTIONISTS!

There is a combination of things..
First off, we’re not winning. We have the ability to win, he has the support to win, we have everything in place to win.
Secondly, Roger stone is indicted today, and Hillary still stumbles around.
