Gooding & Company beat out rivals RM Sotheby's and Bonhams with a 2019 Scottsdale gross of $48.2 million, led by its six top-selling Ferraris....The top seller on the day was the much-heralded 1963 Ferrari 250 GT SWB at $7,595,000. The steel-bodied, dual-purpose street and track car is one of just 166 built and one of just 77 second-series cars trimmed to roadgoing spec. The winning bid was right in the middle of Gooding's presale estimate.

Sure wouldn’t be my “daily driver”, but I’d take it out on certain days. Letting it sit undriven is the worst thing for one of the older cars; for any car, for that matter,

The sound of a Ferrari V12 with carbs going through the gears early in the morning........ that’s a morning drive of dreams!

Ferrari has always had amazing handling/steering but was criticized for having such a harsh ride.

Newer Ferraris have a more comfortable ride without sacrificing handling qualities. The new "entry level" Portafina is an example.

Any idea what it takes dollar wise to get into an “entry level” Portafina?

That baby needs a roll bar for the overly exuberant.

Begins about $215k. Ferrari has vowed to not cheapen the brand.

Maseratis have Ferrari engines and sell in the $100-150k range.

Roll bar deploys when needed, I believe.

Portafina starts around $200k

Here’s a good (and entertaining) video review by Doug Demuro who reviews a lot of high-end sports cars:

Does the Edge browser/Win 10 not have a right-click “view image” menu entry? That shows the image in its own window/tab and you can copy the image URL from the browser address field. That’s the way I usually do it.

I had a 1969 Dino 246 GTS for a couple years, in FL, and drove it 3-4X/week. Enjoyed everything but the overheating, and wasn't going to spend $3,500 for a new radiator. Sold it.

I got to participate in the restoration of one of these as a teenager. I had a job at Auto Europa in CA. They had an entry at Concours’d Elegance every year in SoCal.

They restored the Maharaji Duesenberg.

Orange/Black. We used the last cooling pipe cowling available on that car. It’s a massive automobile. Magnificent. Took Best of Show.

That’s the one. If I recall, there are 24 coats of paint on it. A Frenchman named Lucien did the work. It was so well done, and so well polished, it appeared liquid, like you could dip your hand in the fender and it would come out wet.

Re: right-click “view image” menu entry

Thanks for trying to help.

Unfortunately, Edge does not have that. I can drag and drop photos in some formats, but not to Free Republic.

I am not a big image user - family, friends, Free Republic, and the occasional photo of a beautiful woman - so it's not a huge issue for me.

I just keep hoping that someone at FR has had the same problem and says, “Hey! Here's how to solve that.”

I think the main problem is that so few people use “Edge” nobody really knows how it works...

I have it, but never use it. I have never even set it up.
