American Airlines kicked a Michigan family off a plane in Florida on Wednesday night over what the airline said were complaints from other passengers about their body odor.
Yossi Adler, his wife, Jennie, and their 19-month-old daughter were seated on a Miami-to-Detroit flight when ground crew asked them to step off the plane and then the door closed behind them.
"They said, 'Sir, people have complained that you have body odor,'" Adler told NBC News on Thursday. "I said: 'Excuse me? I need to get home. There is no body odor on me.'"
The family, in Florida for a vacation, made it back to Detroit on Thursday and the airline stood behind its decision.
"The Adler family were asked to deplane last night after several passengers, along with our crew members, complained about their body odor," American Airlines said in a statement. "The family were provided hotel accommodations and meals, and re-booked on a flight to Detroit today.
Yossi Adler a 36-year-old business consultant from Southfield, Michigan accused the airline of singling out his family because they're Jewish. He used his cellphone to tape his argument with the ground crew shortly after they were taken off the plane.
"There's a religious reason for some reason that they're kicking me off the plane. We don't have odor, OK? Nobody here has odor," Adler is heard saying on the video he shot.

Miami to DETROIT, the MUZZIE capital of America. The Adlers hit the lottery!
“...the family had been returning from a seminar on gutting and flaying certain Atlantic ocean fish, reporters were quick to add.”
It’s just common courtesy to keep yourself clean enough that you don’t offend others. Trying to accuse the rest of the world of picking on you because you don’t wash belittles those who are actual victims of bigotry.
Disgusting in smell and in character.
No complaints so far.
When I went to the other seat the two people said: 'Does he want to trade? Please, take whatever seat you want! please!
His buddy reeked also.
People tend not to wash their clothes when on vacation.
After I graduated from grad school spent 6 weeks in Europe visiting friends and family. For the ride back met back up with 2 guys from my class who I flew out with. We got on the plane...OMG!
Longest flight evvver.
The stinker is always last to know.
Theyre Jewish.
Right, a few muzzies identified Jews and did what muzzies do!
Yossi is a Jewish name. Its Joseph.
I’ve sat next to a European on a flight wearing a biker leather jacket and the jacket was unzipped for a second to get something from an inside pocket... OMG pure BO, luckily she zipped it up again. I think deodorant in Europe is optional because that is not the last time I gotten a whiff. Leather is good at keeping it contained. My housekeeper gets kind of ripe too, she’s a natural, masks it with patchouli oil.
Speaking of airborne horrors, has the guy who made the servile Asian stewardesses wipe his bottom, moaning in pleasure the entire time, been IDed?
I have a doctor who has quite a few Amish patients.
Nice people, but the body odor!
The one who smelt it, dealt it.
Once sat beside a German man on a small plane. The man either didn’t wipe after using the bathroom or perhaps made his drawers his bathroom. Fortunately it was a short flight, so I endured - but that was one long 45 minutes.
People that really stink tend to also be argumentative and clueless.
Democrats will want to DOX you for bring up Pelosi on this thread.
Wow, you can tell that they smelled just from the article? Youre either amazing or you are a formal liberal who is a new conservative, but still has the jump to judgement demeanor. Perhaps you should rent yourself out as a jury in all criminal cases. You can just read what the police wrote about the crime committed by the person before they go on trial and find them guilty or not. No need for prosecutors, lawyers, judges, or courtrooms for that matter. If you charge just a 1% fee per ruling, of what adjudicating the crime normally costs, you could become very wealthy in a very short period of time.Robert DeLong
Im truly glad that you reached out to me on this issue. Personal hygiene is a responsibility we all must take seriously whenever we interact with others, especially as representatives of the conservative community. If were emitting an odor offensive to those around us, were in the wrong. All conservatives know that the very basest foundation of conservativeism is to bother no others. Please, begin to groom yourself regularly, at least when in contact with the general public, if not for representing the Conservative movement, but for the good of civilization.
