Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., is bringing on several top officials from Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign to assist in her run for the White House.
One of the most notable former Clinton staffers joining Harris’ campaign is lawyer Marc Elias, who will serve as the campaign's general counsel. Recently Elias, who is chairman of Perkins Coie’s Political Law Group and has had high-profile clients like the Democratic National Committee, took part in the Florida Senate recount effort.
Among Harris' other pick-ups are Lily Adams, who was Clinton’s Iowa communications director, and will now take a step up and work as Harris' national communications director.
The man behind Clinton's delegate and ballot access operations, David Huynh, will serve as Harris' senior campaign adviser. On the finance side, Angelique Cannon will be national finance director after helping Clinton in a deputy role in 2016.
The Washington Free Beacon noted the abundance of Clinton campaign staffers who went straight to work in Harris’ Senate office in 2017, signaling that Harris was considering a presidential run soon after Clinton was defeated.
Harris announced Monday that she is launching a Democratic bid for president in 2020, joining what is expected to be a crowded Democratic primary group.

A FRESHMAN senator from CA believes she has what it takes to become president! It’s laughable - did Feinstein ever run for president? How about Boxer? How about (heaven forbid) Pelosi? Pete Wilson (former mayor and governor) ran once but didn’t make it. But this idiot is the one we’ve been waiting for, right? All any democrat woman needs is a big mouth and there are plenty of those to spare! According to this link, they will have all the creepy crawlies in CA in the race... The ones we’ve heard about are bad enough but Swalwell - the creepiest one of all?? IF that is possible.
How about we let them all run in the state of CA and the winner gets to rule as president of CA and we can separate them from the remainder of the country?
