KEARNEY Driving under the influence of alcohol with an unrestrained child sitting on a case of beer has cost an Elm Creek woman her drivers license.
Katherine Schroders license was revoked for 60 days. After that time frame Judge Gerry Jorgensen ordered her to have an ignition interlock device installed on any vehicle she drives during that time frame.
Schroder, 28, of rural Elm Creek was sentenced Thursday in Buffalo County Court for child abuse, DUI-first offense and leaving an accident scene, all misdemeanors. Jorgensen also placed her on probation for 1 ½ years under the standard conditions including that she serve 90 days in jail, complete intensive outpatient alcohol counseling and any aftercare program, complete a victim impact panel, and complete classes in responsible decisions, crime/victim empathy and getting motivated.

When police approached the pickup, court records say a strong odor of alcohol was coming from Schroder who reportedly had bloodshot, watery eyes. She struggled to roll down the window and placed the pickup in reverse instead of park.
Police found a 2-year-old boy unrestrained in the back seat of the pickup sitting on top of a case of beer near a loaded assault rifle, according to records.

years ago, I used to work at a small-city police station. only 5-10% of DWI's brought in overnight were women. The men were nearly all just above the limit at that time - 0.11-0.12
The women, though much fewer in number, we almost always .25 or above. I saw a few at 0.30 and higher.
“and complete classes in .... getting motivated.”
Well, she seemed to have that part down.
Interesting.. and she doesn’t look like a rail thin woman.
Hold Muh Beer - You’re doing it wrong.
I’m surprised she didn’t have the beer all safely put away in seat belts.
And the kid? Ehh - he’s on his own. Mama done told him to put his seat belt on.
She looks like she could use a few of those beers.

Those beers were for her husband. He needed them before... er... you know.
That’s how I grew up. We had to keep the kegs from rolling around and shaking up the beer in the back of the pickup truck.
Oh how times have changed... and we survived with only a few brain injuries... from drinking.... not from falling out of the truck while drunk.

Looks like she could suck a golf ball through 50 ft of garden hose!!!

Back in my day, a beer-weight was a perfectly legitimate use for a toddler. Why let the case of beer slide around the back seat unrestrained?
For his beer goggles! He needed them.
That boy will be posting here on FR some day.
Normally, that's comatose zone. Looks like she's been snockered continuously for a long time to build up that kind of tolerance.
