A crucial non-interference, non-helmet-to-helmet call cost the Saints a spot in the Super Bowl and provided a crushing loss to end the season for a second straight year as the Rams won with a field goal in overtime 26-23.
After the game, Saints head coach Sean Payton said the NFL head of officials admitted they had missed the call, saying that it was not only pass interference, but a helmet to helmet hit. If the call had been made, the Saints could have killed the clock and tried a chip shot field goal...

It’s BLATANT and could not be missed by an NFL crew.
Not in 100 years.
It’s crooked, and obviously fixed.
You can’t review a P.I. call. That’s a judgement call by the officials when the play happens.
Blatant.
And yet if the defender had turned to the ball like he was suppose to... it’d been an interception.
Yep. LA to win by all costs.
F the NFL
Why weren’t the Saints able to challenge that call? If that’s not part of the rules then the rules need to be changed to allow ANY call to be reversed. This was one of the worst years of bad calls.
The pass interference non calls this whole year is unbelievable.
There are people out there that don’t know what they’re doing. Look at the GOP.
Maybe not head to head but definitely pass interference. I’m just sayin’.
Because of Suh, I don’t want the Rams.
Guy is a thug. I wished the Lions never drafted him.
There was also another blatant PI that wasn’t called that wound up killing another Saints drive.
And how was it not PI on the interception in OT, when the ball wasn’t tipped?
Ding ding ding!
Well now, enjoy your 5+ Hour NFL games now that they’ll make everything reviewable.
Of course it would make more sense to have better referees.
nobody can dispute that video. what a fix.
why not? If it is is, "because those are the rules" then the rules need to change. Saw so many bad calls (that weren't reviewable? last week the refs were in the Patriots back pockets it was disgusting.
First time in 2 years I’ve watched even “part” of a game. I caught this one in the last quarter and thought, WTH, I’ll watch for a few minutes. Then this call happened. Boy of there was a “sign” to be seen, this was almost an “oman”. What a shame. I don’t need that aggravation.
I remember when Dale Earnhardt died and Junior suddenly started winning.
How many officials missed it? If more than one can throw a flag on that play there is something seriously wrong. It wasn’t that hard to see.
