With all the endless pounding of political nonsense, liberal rants, screaming harpies, and general news of continuously increasing stupidity, Im looking forward to just playing with my seeds. Been fascinated with Kratky style hydroponics and experimented with it last year. Everything I know about hydroponics I learned on YouTube. This year I think Ill turn the sunroom into a greenhouse of sorts. Previous owners of this house added that room for their hot tub, so there is a water faucet available, and electric for the grow lights, as well as plenty of sunshine. Its the favorite room for the feline slugs, but I dont think theyll mind the incursion, as long as I grow them some catnip.
East of Albuquerque we had a quick dump of 20 of snow just before Christmas, with minor occasional additions since then. Then things got somewhat back to normal and temps hit 70 degrees the last couple of days (!) and now the snow is mostly thinning brown slush.
We want to add an addition to our house too. A sun room with windows on 3 sides longest side facing almost south. Put a skylight at the end that has the most sun light. Wood stove, and some electric outlets.
We currently grow a few plants in the winter in front of a patio door, but would like to grow more.
