My first thought was that this was staged. Nobody is that clueless. But on consideration, I think this is legit.

You should see them with a vacuum tube radio.

History is a wonderful thing; and, knowing about the progression of technology helps understand terminology.

Don’t be so sure, OB-1.

Calculators are not obsolete. They just aren’t.

Yep, I figured that out in a very short time. Easy, intuitive.

Yes, I had to dial a number with a touch-tone phone that was connected to a rotary circuit.

How many would recognize a piece of flint lying on the ground?

Yes. You dial 1 by hook-flashing once, 2 with two hook-flashes, and so on. One payed extra for touch-tone service, dial service was always present. The dial worked flawlessly since touch-tone is an add-on service.

Ya pick up the ear piece and hold it to your ear. Then you turn the crank, and wait for the operator to state "Number please"....

I've never used one, but know full well how it was done. Sucks, I even know what the operators would have to do in order to complete the calls.

Do you know what the telephone terms "tip" and "ring" mean?

The wife and I were watching one of my favorite movies “Wall Street” the other night. When the scene with Michael Douglas walking on the beach with the brick phone came on I asked her if she remembered how cool those brick phones were way back when. “Money never sleeps, sport.”

My first cell phone that I got in ‘91 was a bag phone. I still had my first contract from back then until Verizon shafted me last year. Unlimited minutes and unlimited data. They didn’t like the unlimited data part.

My students would ask me “What time is it?” with a huge wall clock sitting right there in the front of the classroom. I’d point to the clock and they’d shake their heads. “I don’t know how to tell time with that!”

I dumped Verizon years ago, for my condo’s land line. Thei monthly bill kept creeping-up, whether I used it or not.

Transforming an logarithmic representation to alphanumeric is an accomplishment.

Thanks. The hard part was getting my wi-fi to recognize the slide rule. Ultimately it was accomplished by having them spend the night together.
