My first thought was that this was staged. Nobody is that clueless. But on consideration, I think this is legit.

To all the old-timers laughing at the clueless kids who can't work a rotary dial phone, don't you be feeling so superior unless you know how to work one of these!

Worthless clocks anyway. Every six months my neighbors run around their homes changing 12 stupid clocks. They ask me and I say I change microwave and stove. That’s it. DVR, cell phone and computer change themselves. Who needs 12 dang clocks. They even have one in their garage. Dumb!!!!!

Several years ago I needed rabbit ears for my TV. Went to K-Mart and asked in electronics for the. I was told to check in Halloween costumes for them

“How many of you chronological snobs would have any idea of how to operate a 1940’s vintage tabulator without instructions?”

Or a mimeograph. I could operate both but doubt that my kids or grandkids could.

I also know that they would not know how to defrost a refrigerator or stoke a coal burning furnace——again, things that I know.

Making fun of kids that can’t figure out a dial phone is just plain silly.

A former co-irker collected them.

I think he had a fair sized amount stacked away.

“Would a rotary phone work on a touch tone system?”

I haven’t worked on land lines in several years, but a basic line was analog and you paid extra for the DTMF (touch tone)line. But it was backward compatible.

And as is predictable we have many freepers come along and say the kids are stupid, uneducated, lazy , yadda yadda yadda.

You know what you grumpy old farts? Operating a dial phone is not something you are going to know how to do if you never used one. The way the rotary phone works is so fundamentally different than anything kids today have used they can’t be expected to know how to use it.

How many of you old bastards know how to drive a Ford Model T? I bet none of you can just jump in one and figure out how to use it. Does that mean you are stupid? Our grandfathers knew how.

Here is a newsflash you doddering old goats: MOST kids are actually pretty smart. MOST kids are actually good kids.

Now get off my lawn!

Even before Area Codes, Zip Codes and push-button phones. Yup, The “Good Ol’ Days”.

They have their well known aversion and difficulty with manual transmissions as well.

Even if they figured a manual out, how can you text if you have to keep shifting?

Well, I see them poking a finger at their iPhag smartphones all the time, so they know how to use the finger.................

Do you have Prince Albert in a can? Well, you better let him out.

Is your refrigerator running? You better catch it.

Hello, this is the telephone company and we’re doing repairs on your line. Would you please put your phone in a paper bag?

Hello, this is the funeral home. You kill ‘em, we chill ‘em.

It's the "walk and chew gum" finally come true.

You need to use both hands and both feet to drive a manual transmission car. Kids today are good at using all their fingers on their smartphones and game consoles, but not much from the rest of their bodies.

When the army has trouble recruiting because kids don't know how to throw a ball or run very fast, then we have a problem.

My shoulder has gotten to the point that throwing more than a few yards is out of the question. Would be useless with a grenade unless I had good cover.

Had one of these hanging on the wall in our kitchen. I was five, the house was 50 years old and the phone could very easily have been in the house since it was built. We amused ourselves listening in on the party line.
