Something was going right for them to sprout.
Not sure if Moon soil could be fertile or not.
You’d have to have an artificial oxygen supply and an air right green house. Could work out as other foods were grown there for nutrition.
Hydroponics has been studied quite a bit. Soil might not even be necessary these days.
Some interesting food for thought anyway.

It seems as if it’s good enough for sprouts. But it is the moon after all.

Yup. If nothing else, I’ll start selling some lunar north 40 and see how many city slickers buy it.
:D

Only moisture is necessary for a seed to sprout, no soil required.
I don’t know, from what I read, all they did was land a sealed container with seeds and claimed they sprouted.........Nothing about actually planting on the planet........
Here’s the deal: If you have sterile soil, fertility means nothing if you produce food with little-to-no nutritional content.
This is the root of the glyphosate debate...that it’s killing the bacteria which give our food minerals & vitamins.
There’s an abundance of research demonstrating that the nutritional content of factory farming has dropped dramatically over the decades.
Food is one thing; nutrients, quite another.
