How Do We Measure the Cost of Effectiveness?
Many people are against added border security simply because President Trump feels he needs it to enforce immigration law. These people have to rationalize that it cost too much because they already know barriers work.
The empirical information regarding the effectiveness of a border barrier is clear but information on the cost effectiveness is missing.
How is the cost effectiveness of a barrier determined? One way would be to compare the cost to the nation in dollars with and without the barrier. Does the government have actuary people who could model the cost incurred by illegal immigration before and after a barrier?
I sense that liberal democrats are not worried that a barrier wont work. Their biggest fear is that barriers will work.
If we build a barrier that works President Trump will look good. If we build a barrier that doesnt work President Trump will look bad.
The cost of ineffectiveness is 21 Trillion Dollars.

$100 Vanity Tax for this one.
My grandkids grew up in a rural, end of the road town. 50% of the school students couldn’t speak English. Effectiveness is found in more than just dollars.
