Former Attorney General Eric Holder called for impeachment proceedings to begin if a report from Buzzfeed News saying President Trump directed Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about plans to build a Trump Tower in Moscow during the 2016 presidential campaign are true.
“If true - and proof must be examined - Congress must begin impeachment proceedings,” Holder tweeted Friday.
“[William] Barr must refer, at a minimum, the relevant portions of material discovered by Mueller. This is a potential inflection point,” he added, referring to Trump’s nominee for attorney general.
Holder, who is reportedly considering a 2020 presidential run, has cast himself as a staunch opponent of Trump’s, particularly over the White House’s sprawling legal entanglements.
The BuzzFeed News report says that Trump met with Cohen, his former attorney and fixer, at least 10 times to discuss the tower while maintaining to the public that he had no business ties in Russia. Two law enforcement officials told Buzzfeed News that the president backed a plan for him to visit Russia and meet with President Vladimir Putin to begin negotiating the project’s construction.
“Make it happen,” the report says Trump told Cohen around the time.
Cohen admitted in November to lying to Congress about Trump’s Moscow property plans. He made the false statements while testifying before two congressional intelligence committees in 2017.
He reportedly told special counsel Robert Mueller, who is leading an investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia in 2016 and obstruction of justice, of the pressure to lie.
The report was met with swift reaction from a number of Democrats who demanded answers, with House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) saying, “We will do what’s necessary to find out if it’s true.”
Cohen was sentenced in December to three years in prison on multiple charges, including lying to Congress about the Trump Tower Moscow project.

That is what this is about. They MUST, ABSOLUTELY, get rid of this man NOW.
They know what is coming otherwise, PDJT gets to pick another judge. Their heads are exploding.
Three words for you, Holder: FAST AND FURIOUS
It lying is serious, why didn’t Democrat’s vote twenty years ago to remove Clinton from office?
And thus is a lie that wasn’t personally told by the President to any public official.
If there wasn’t one, to rephrase Hillary Clinton, “what difference does it make?”
Not a lie that hurts me. I wasn’t a party to the Moscow Trump Tower project desl nor was I injured by it.
What about Holder lying about Fast and Furious? He may want to be a bit careful. When he judges Trump for lying (supposedly) he is judging himself.
I read up on attorney/client privilege and the courts are very reluctant to use attorney’s statements against their clients.

I think the only reason we are seeing any statements or rumors about Cohen is because Mueller knows he can’t use him as a witness or evidence. So they are just leaking information for Democrat red meat. Any lawyer worth anything would have all Cohen statements, records etc. thrown out and also barred from the witness stand. Cohen is all Mueller has which means he has nothing.
Justice will only return to the USA when Holder is behind bars.
It all started to go bad once he started working for Clinton.
But they didn’t kill any cops by handing weapons to the Mexican cartels.
Their "proof" is Cohen's testimony, which has become clear he is lying to save his own arse.
As Comey has said about Hillary's many crimes and violations of statues, "There was no intent to violate the law."
Therefore, "Our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case [against Hillary]," he concluded.
What's good for the goose, is good for the gander.
OK, so you hire an attorney in order to protect yourself legally, but then you go and not just “instruct” your attorney to act illegally thereby incriminating yourself, but you allow a record of this illegality. And, furthermore, the attorney you hire is not a very good one at all, who just goes and breaks the law despite his presumed training, violates attorney-client privilege and attempts to incriminate his own client to whom he was providing legal guidance.
Does this make sense to anyone who is not a Democrat?
When you put it this way it looks like entrapment. A very devious entrapment that looks highly illegal.

IF Holder had been a white Republican..
IMO, he may still yet be subject to prosecution related to fast and furious and other crimes. If we only had a real Attorney General. Holder better hope Barr is not a true man of the law.
FU Holder, if Trump gets impeached you will start a war.
Holder should be inside a federal penitentiary...
The Buzzfeed journalists haven’t seen any evidence, and one of them got canned for lying before.

There are exceptions. If an attorney and their client hatch a plan to do something illegal, as has been alleged here, that’s not covered under attorney-client privilege.
Well, NorDUH O’Donnell was peeing in her pants shouting that Trump suborned perjury and her co-host John said this is the smoking gun and Oprah’s friend said this will be interesting as in the next month he’ll be impeached. UGH
