A pair of divers have taken part in a daring photoshoot with the biggest great white shark on the planet after it was spotted swimming near Hawaii.
The enormous predator known as 'Deep Blue', is believed to weigh around 2.5tons and measure up to 20 ft , was first seen by Mark Mohler and Kimberly Jeffries, who are both divers and photographers, on Sunday last week.
And the pair soon leapt into the water to take a closer look at the creature as she fed on a dead sperm whale, around nine miles from the coast off the Hawaiian island of Oahu.
Remarkable video shot nearby by Jeffries shows a swarm of Tiger sharks swarming around the dead sperm whale, before Deep Blue's dramatic arrival.

OK. I get that the sharks were happily munching on the whale carcass - but those divers could have been taken for a chunk that got away.
This defines crazy, IMHO.

If you will notice, the divers aren't wearing the standard 'black' wet-suit. It makes them look like a seal (the shark's favorite).
They are wearing a tiger-striped wet-suit.

Like the shark wouldn’t eat a tiger that wandered into range. :)
Dang, I was hoping for another “Godzilla free” day too!
There are lots of shark varieties. I have been SCUBA diving since I was about 12 and have seen many up close (tigers, threshers, nurse, white tip, black tip, etc. Even a hammerhead once), but I have no desire to ever be in open water with a Great White.
While this couple captured some great pics, like that movie Bird Box, this will just encourage other ‘invincible’ millennials to do stupid stuff. I am certain we will read about that stupid stuff sooner or later
Some people do this with cute grizzly bears too. Makes for great photos.
But don't do this with liberals, no matter how cute they look, unless you're angling for a Darwin award. Not worth the risk.
