New Gillette ad 'We Believe: The Best Men Can Be' has caused firestorm for tackling theme of 'toxic masculinity'
It was directed by Kim Gehrig, an Australian-born and London-based ad director who has previously shot commercials for Uber, Gap and UK's John Lewis
Her ad for feminine hygiene firm Libresse - known as Bodyform in the UK - featured singing female genitals
Other work includes a short film suggesting Australian men turned to bodybuilding because of bullying
Somesuch's previous work includes an unsparing look at periods with the hastag #BloodNormal She has tweeted anti-Trump messages and spoken of her pride about giving female directors 'a fair shot'

The director behind Gillette's controversial new ad is a woman whose past work includes an ode to female genitals and a short film that explores 'toxic masculinity' featuring a protagonist whose life crumbles when he becomes addicted to steroids.
The Gillette ad, called 'We Believe: The Best Men Can Be', takes aim at bullying and sexual harassment and has been viewed more than four million times on YouTube around the world, although it is only being shown fully in the U.S.
But while it has amassed 85,000 likes, it has also racked up 347,000 dislikes with some of the 98,657 comments below accusing it of being 'anti-male and anti-white' and of 'spreading pure propaganda and indoctrination.'
Kim Gehrig, the director of the new ad, is an Australian mother-of-two who lives in London, England, and has a lengthy history of taking aim at social ills through her work.

Your GIF is too funny.
But seriously, that was one bizarre ad campaign on the part of Gillette. They would have done better doing an ad from a man’s point of view, in my humble opinion, if they are trying to reach men. I don’t even like Gehrig’s ads geared towards women, and I am one.
I saw this ad on the news tonight
_________
I hope it wasn’t on Fox News.

“Ironic that this ad campaign was directed by Australian director Kim Gehrig, who has been accused of sexuaI abuse by 2 men & 5 women when they were minors. Her victim’s videos exposing Ms. Gehrig for being a predator have been on Youtube for a number of years - 1 dating back to 2010. Yet this paedophiIe is trying to smear the vast majority of men as predators & abusers? Gilltette, did you even do a cursory background check on Ms. Gehrig’s Somesuch & Co. firm before hiring her to direct this campaign? Explain why your company’s associated with a predator who’s actions lead to the suicide of one of her victims in 2016!!”
Nothing on google. Nothing on yt. I’m not convinced.
I saw a funny tweet today. Some woman said shes contacting makers of feminine hygiene products to start a campaign to combat toxic femininity for women to stop treating men badly during their time of the month.
Two miserable feminazi SJWs trying to undo biology and replace it with their perverted construct. And probably suffering from a terminal case of good old fashioned penis envy to boot.
Woulda never figured you as a Castenada reader

As opposed to the gillette add the SFG’s are actually kind of funny.
Had a beard for the last 50 years or so. No need to change things now.
Well now, cuz. Proctor & Gamble’s main completion is Colgate-Palmolive. Out with the old, in with the new!
I’ll have to switch to dollar shave or Harry’s or whatever company it is.
I am so deeply tired of this crap. These women are sick and Gillette is run by idiots.
Screw them.
I saw it...I resented that the ad made out MOST white men to be bullying, misogynist, womanizing jerks. You can’t DISAGREE with the premise but the awful assumption that just about ALL white men are like this is infuriating.
“The Cars were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame recently.”

The Cars? Nothing against them, they had a coupla hits in the in the early late 70s or 80s - but so did a lot of other people/bands. Nothing worthy of induction to the R&R HOF. They came and went, like dozens of other bands of the time.
Well she can kiss my white male ass.
Quality seems the same as Gillette, but the blades are much less expensive.
Awesome! Stolen!
Not agreed.
They had 4 top 10 hits and 18 in the top 100.
They made albums from 1978 to 1987. The first 2 albums are classics. The Cars and Candy-O.
The Candy-O album cover was painted by artist Alberto Vargas, who was known for his paintings of pin-up girls that appeared in Esquire and Playboy magazines in the 1940s through the 1960s. The idea to hire Vargas came from drummer David Robinson, the band's artistic director and a collector of pin-ups. The 83-year-old Vargas had retired several years earlier but was persuaded to take the assignment by his niece, who was a fan of the Cars. The painting, depicting a woman sprawled across the hood of a car, was based on a photo shoot directed by Robinson at a Ferrari dealership. The model, coincidentally named Candy Moore (famous for having played Lucille Ball's onscreen daughter on The Lucy Show), briefly dated Robinson afterward.
I just checked my bathroom and I do not have a Gillette razor. Gillette is owned by Proctor and Gamble. I do have some of their cleaning products in my bathroom and kitchen. I will use up what I have and never buy any product from them in the future.
