No, aquavit is distilled spirit produced in the Scandinavian countries. As a young woman, I gained tremendous respect from a Dane, the new husband of my then sister-in-law, by drinking a few servings of it with him. Was not a big drinker and I never drank straight liquor, but I guess it didn't affect me because I didn't know better. 😁
