we once witnessed a person with disabilities..... accidentally ram into a customer inside a Miejers (a good big Walmart- like store) in Michigan.

It was “just” his disability, he did not mean to hit anyone...

but it is a problem, especially since these motorized carts are intended for persons with disabilities

I wonder if the stores can, and do?... anything to screen people who use these motor carts, or what?

When I worked for the Postal Service, because I was qualified to drive postal/govt vehicles and operate power equipment I had to agree to submit to random drug/alcohol testing at any time, without cause no matter how squeaky clean my record was.
