Missing teen Jayme Closs was found alive and a suspect is in custody, the Barron County Sheriff's Department reported on its Facebook page Thursday night.
Jayme vanished early Oct. 15 when sheriffs deputies, responding to a 911 call, found the door to her familys home near Barron kicked in. Her parents, James, 56, and Denise, 46, were found shot to death, but Jayme was missing. She had not been seen or heard from since.
The Sheriff's Department was notified earlier Thursday evening by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office that it had located Jayme, 13, a student at Riverview Middle School in Barron, the Facebook post said.
A suspect was taken into custody shortly after Jayme was located, the Facebook post said.
The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported that a source with knowledge of the investigation said Jayme escaped from a home and approached a neighbor, identifying herself and asking the neighbor to call 911.

The DA was talking two murder charges but they are still searching for a murder weapon. From what I have read, they didn't find any "foreign" i.e. non-family DNA or finger prints at the scene of the murder. The DA said they were hoping to charge him this coming week but they are going to need more evidence and/or outside testimony to place him at the murder scene and a better motive than a planned abduction I think?
Lots of unanswered questions remaining why he kicks in the front door and murders both parents if abduction of the girl was his goal?
Im quite sure she was abused. But did they break into the home, shoot her parent to death to get at her? Or was there something else going on and she happened to be there.

I listened to the 10 a.m. CT news conference and the sheriff said there was no indication yet that the girl or the parents had had any previous contact with Jake Patterson. There is another news conference scheduled for 4 p.m. today where hopefully more information will be provided.
"....Officials have identified the kidnapper as 21-year-old Jake Thomas Patterson. He's been charged with 2 counts of first-degree homicide for the killing of Jayme's parents and 1 count of kidnapping. Patterson's being held in Barron County jail. Authorities say Jake had no criminal history and had no connection to the Closs family. Officials say it's unclear how Jayme escaped her captor but added she perfectly described one of Patterson's vehicles, which helped cops quickly spot his car. Cops pulled Patterson over and arrested him without incident."

I'm still trying to get my head around the part I highlighted above.
The overwhelming majority of kidnappings are done by family or acquaintances of the victims. A neighbor or work associate, the gardener, the delivery guy who strikes up a conversation, the repair man who has eyes for the homeowner's daughter, that sort of thing.
We shall see as the investigation develops.
The perp needs to be hung and left there to rot.
As Josey Wales said, “buzzards gotta eat, same as worms.”
It’s very creepy. I’m still waiting for them to find the animal who killed those 2 young girls out walking in Indiana a couple years ago. That case appears to be stone cold. Even after he was caught on the phone in video talking. Horrifying.
