“In a statement after the talks ended, the United States trade representatives office said the two sides had discussed Chinas pledge to buy a substantial amount of American agricultural, energy and manufacturing products.
Negotiators also focused on White House concerns about Chinas approach to intellectual property protection and its practice of so-called forced technology transfer, the statement said.”

December 18, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said he would probably meet with the Chinese in January.
“The two sides are planning to meet in January, according to Chinese officials with knowledge of the discussions who asked not to be named as the talks were private. Chinas Ministry of Commerce didnt respond to a faxed request for comment.”
