Ukraine is one of the most corruption riddled countries on earth. THAT is where you go? Was Mexico or Congo unavailable?

Amazon manages the NSA’s data centers. Would not surprise me if Amazon devices feed right into them.

Stick Internet-based cameras in your house, and you’ll get what you deserve.
If I were to do that, they’d ONLY be active when I’m not home.

I like the ring, but the advertisements are misleading. Your chance of scaring someone off or answering in a reasonable amount of time is just about non-existent even with a strong 4g signal.

Completely agree.
Technology is what puts food on my table and pays my mortgage...and you can bet I will never have those connected devices in my home.

Don’t forget the Google or Amazon Refrigerator, so THEY can see how much beer you have chilling, or if you have over the permitted amounts of sweetened drinks

Yep. By the time you get a conversation actually started, the person is gone. Most Ring videos I’ve seen catch the back of the person walking away from your porch.

I could see it happening.
Back when I worked as a dev, we could get to pretty much every customers complete set of data except if they had gone out of their way to lock it down. Vast majority didn’t. It really helped for debugging problems.
Different times.

Ive written this before; this era would be a wonderland for Stalin and Beria. Not only do the victims of spying buy the equipment - then they install and maintain it!
