The Arizona Cardinals are set to hire Kliff Kingsbury as their new head coach, according to Peter Schrager of FOX Sports.
In December, Kingsbury was named offensive coordinator at the University of Southern California after being fired from his head-coaching role at Texas Tech.
Following the conclusion of the NFL regular season, the Cardinals and New York Jets had expressed interest in hiring Kingsbury for their head-coaching vacancies. However, the Trojans reportedly did not initially grant Kingsbury permission to interview with either club. He went on to eventually meet with both teams.

He would be an awesome Offensive Coordinator. He will fail as a Pro Head.
Baker Mayfield transferred away from Texas Tech under his term, then he went 4-8, 7-6, 5-7 with Patrick Mahomes at the helm. Good luck Cardinals!
I still hate that Mike Leach is not at Tech. Best coach they’ll ever have.
Yep, it’s Mahomes that pretty much is the only reason Kingsbury got the job, as if Kingsbury was responsible for his development.
If that running around throwing the ball up in the air for grabs 50 times a game does not work in Lubbock, it’s not going to work in the NFL.
There is also a big rumor that Kingsbury is GAY.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Looks like NFL wants basketball on grass if this is the trend. I prefer power running and play action passes myself, but I’m a dinosaur.
Is that how they got around the Rooney Rule?
Un-check one box and check another.
“I’m a man”?
Kingsbury is damn good. The AD at Texas Tech was the first class dumbass to get rid of him and bring him some no-name.
Hmm, I don't know about that one. He seems to be doing pretty well judging by this article: Kliff Kingsbury hired by USC
No, that was another coach at another school...
Mahomes has been fantastic in the NFL. And the weak point in Kingsbury defense, is when his defense coordinator was terminated for cause, and shopped around their playbook. TCU and Texas both famously acquired the Texas Tech Playbook, and play calling signals.
Kingsbury is much better than you will believe
Leach was fantastic. A legacy snowflake and his lowlife journalist dad who killed the SMU program did him in.
You'd think Texas would have learned their lesson after Mike Leach had one of his players "accidently" drop a bogus OU playbook on the field before the Texas-OU game, when he was an assistant coach in Norman.
Ha ha, shades of Greg Brady when he shystered the star player on the opposing team that his sister Marcia was dating.
Jerry Moore wasn’t any good at Tech ... but found his success later on at App State. Coach Spike Dykes was a pretty good coach, local, West Texan, decent guy ... even took the Red Raiders to a few bowl games. Mike Leach was the best they ever had. I was very disappointed that he left, and more disappointed to see that TTU has gone politically correct.
