I wonder just how fast the military could put the wall up.

Don’t know. But think about the deterrent value alone of tens of thousands of US military running around the border during the process.

If walls/barriers are soooo bad, why isn’t Schumer/Pelosi arguing to tear down the barriers that are currently in place, for example between San Diego and Tijuana?

Walls work and they know it - and they’re scared.

Go Trump - MAGA
Go Melania aka Lady MAGA

Probably not very fast. There will be political pressure to prevent and/or legal pressure brought by politicians. There will also likely be protests, sit ins and maybe even violence against those building it.

I still think this is nothing more than gamesmanship. But if Trump announces that he’s citing an emergency to build the wall tonight, I don’t know how this ends. All hell will break loose politically.

The military has a lot of equipment and know-how when it comes to building things ... something as simple as even a "complex" wall would not be a problem. After Katrina, it took me over a week before things were clear enough for me to reach Keesler AFB...whole different world on the base compared to what off-base looked like.

All the major debris was out of the way and there were communications complexes set up with generators and the whole 9 yards...and there was also a huge effort going on to make positive contact with everyone, military and civilian, underway......

Nothing to give one an idea of what the military can do like when you have an actual SHTF situation.

Between the Sea Bees, USAF Red Horse, etc., who do heavy construction while fighting, and other assets, it would get done faster and cheaper than any contractors could do.

What I’m wondering is why I’m still seeing the see-through barriers with illegal aliens climbing to the top and sitting arrogantly on the top of them. I mean how long does it take to cap the top of those walls with concertina wire?
If they were capped, I’m sure there would be very few climbers, and those who did climb would have to have wire cutters and other tools to disconnect that wire. Not worth the hassle!
