PARIS - A 50-year-old French author is under fire on social media for saying he couldnt love a woman his own age.
According to USA Today, BBC News and other outlets, Yann Moix made the controversial comments in a recent interview with Marie Claire France.
"I'm telling you the truth," the TV host and "Rompre (Breaking Up)" writer said in French. "At 50 years old, I am incapable of loving a 50-year-old woman."
When asked to explain, he said: "I find that too old. When I'm 60 years old, I'll be able to do it. Then 50 years old will appear young to me."
But for now, women his own age are "invisible" to him, he continued.
The body of a 25-year-old woman is extraordinary, he said. The body of a 50-year-old woman isn't extraordinary at all.
Outraged women flocked to Twitter to slam Moix, calling his words sexist.
He also said he prefers Asian women particularly Koreans, Chinese and Japanese.
“I’m telling you the truth,”
That was his first mistake.
He also says he prefers Asian women.
That all depends on the size of the potential inheritance...
They don’t tell, they don’t swell and they’re grateful as hell. Benjamin Franklin.
Yes i dont think he is worried about rocking clocks.
Ticking clocks typo.
My immediate thought was “rock cod”.
My wife is not older yet, but I am 100% sure that when the inevitable sets in, that by knowing her and no other all these years I will see the young Mrs. Sivana at the same time. After all, they are the same woman. That doesn’t stop her from wanting me to lose weight and take better care of my hair (I know ... the real Dr. Sivana doesn’t have hair).
Liz Hurley would be an exception
LOL!
And older gentleman, watching a sweet young lady work out at his gym, asked the attendant which machine he should use to get her attention.
“The ATM” was his response.
Ugly man. I don’t have the great body I had at 25. But it’s calling women of a certain age invisible that I find most offensive.
I know one too, I hope she's not the same one you know.
Good. Leave more of those skilled babes for me.
He’s entitled to his opinion but if there any fifty-year-old women here on Free Republic who want to prove him wrong I’m a talented photographer.
Not joking...fashion, boudoir,.....;)
All I know is that I have a few years on this guy, and it really freaks me out to stand in the checkout line looking at the covers of Glamour and Cosmo and realize that they’re all about my daughter’s age.
He looks like a fish. YUCK!
Unless you live here in Pennsyltucky that’s doubtful.
The problem is will she let you enjoy her? I think what this guy means is that older women just don’t want to fool around any more?
She wouldn't hire Frenchy to mow the yard.
