I doubt Posse Comitatus applies in the event of an invasion. Only the military can repel an invasion. Not really a matter of semantics. Thousands attacking our border is, by definition, an invasion!
Agree. All military can be used against foreign invaders. That is one of the main reasons to have a military!

as I understand it, the purpose of Posse Comitatus is to Prevent the military being used against citizens. I would surmise that an illegal is fair game for any military branch...technically speaking, of course.
