1 dead, 3 injured out of 4. I reckon that’s good shooting.

Somehow I don’t think the homeowner was armed with 10 rd mags in his gun.
I don’t think the press is going to tell us either.
Call me cynical.

This is why you need standard magazines in the 15-17 round range.

I sleep so hard that I cannot imagine doing that well.

I do believe the other 3 will get charged with murder. That’s the way it is in Calif.

They should. That’s called the Felony Murder Rule and most states use it.

You’re assuming that the homeowner is a male.
Shame on you!

"...10-round magazines..."
Homeowner might also possess a well-tuned 12-gauge shotgun with the precisely correct load for the situation.

Maybe. Most shot loads, regardless of choke, don’t spread much bigger than a tennis ball under 20 ft. or more.

I’d give the homeowner a solid B. A little more time on the range would net him an A and saved the taxpayers a load of cash trying the surviving perps. But I must admit that I would have been pleased with myself if I had had similar results!

What amazes me is that one was a 36 yr old woman.
I live in a small town where there isn’t much crime but the police blotter isn’t the same as it was 20+ years ago. More and more I see women in their 30s and 40s arrested for domestic violence, B&Es, DUIs and public intoxication with resisting added on. A couple of cases like that every week.

Understood and agree!
Lets say the homeowner shot four shells out of his/her shotgun and all the pellets hit their intended target.
That is a potential scenario where a very limited number of trigger pulls could result in a positive outcome.

Good shooting, Hoss! Sounds like your rifle might need a tad zeroing, however.
